Group of people whom have 15-29 age and it is also when we are in our teens and twenties that music seems to play its most important role in our lives. They would like to listen music for approximately two to three hours per day. Music use and depression in young people has led to music being blamed for the suicide of several youths. For most people, listening to music even music expressing negative emotions like sadness or anger can be an effective way to deal with their emotions. Across several sad of story that involving more than 10 people, we can found that there are many ways that we can use sad music to help ourselves to be better. Sometime seem to just really get into the music and enjoy the emotional journey.
We can use the music for feeling emotional connection with other and we help them ourselves through feelings of sadness or think about how to overcome difficulties. It motivates us to think carefully about our situations and to make changes to improve our lives. We see that rather than feeling better after listening to sad music. A person with a tendency to depression. However, might listen to the same song but focus on thoughts of how love never works out for them, or how they will never be able to fall in love with anyone else. Thus, instead of feeling better, their negative thought patterns are only deepened by listening to such a song. In my fact story, I felt more depressed after listening to the sad song they had nominated. On the other hand, when I asked my friends to listen to a piece of music that they knew made them feel happy, even those with high levels of depression felt much better. Nowadays we can sad music can be enormous popular, mostly moving us in a more memorable way than happier or sad ones. The strange thing about sad music is that group of person will readily consume music that can leave them feeling bad or recalling unpleasant events. Sad music might make people feel sharing unpleasant emotion.
But it is only one experience can ultimately be pleasurable because it allows a negative emotion to exist indirectly, and at a safe distance. Sad music instead of feeling the deepness of despair, we can feel homesickness for a time when they were in a similar emotional state. It’s also a non-threatening way to remember a sadness. Those more open to different experiences power enjoy the songs because the uncommon emotions that come up when listening to the music fulfill their need for reality in thoughts and feelings. For myself, I was at home, feeling sorry for myself, I decided to play some sad music in order to cry a little and then feel relieved and move on. A 17-year-old, I putted it like this “the music would encourage me to feel the pain as it were, plus allow me to have a good cry for myself but it probably did not make me feel better at the time, but may have helped me success overall”. It seen one’s own feelings as part of the larger human experience rather than lonely. We were also participants who saw sad music as a friend, as if it were empathizing with our suffering. People listen to sad songs when they are feeling sad in order to help them remember, relate to their story, or remember about a past experience that they have had.
Listening to a sad music may help the person tap into their memory, which helps them remember that specific experience. For example, whenever I listen to one of the songs that was played at my hurting love, I always think of him and the good memories we had together. Some sadness comes with listening to that sad song and having those feelings and thoughts come back to us. But in the end, there is usually a feeling of happiness, more than a feeling of sadness.
